Hey ✨Notion Rebels✨,
Frances from The Notion Bar here - I've found my dream client... through a podcast.
Meet Brigette Romanek, interior designer to the stars and is the most recent guest on one of my absolute favourite podcasts - Naked Beauty by Brooke DeVard Ozaydinli (I literally devour every episode).
I design digital workspaces in Notion and consider myself a space designer first, before any of the productivity/database stuff comes into it.
I resonated a lot with Brigette's deep respect for how we use space as individuals, and how that influences her design process:
- How do you want to *feel* in the space? (Beauty)
- How do you need this space to support *you*? (Function)
- Valuing individual needs & values over trends (or in my case frameworks)
- Curating a space you *want* to spend time in
- Creating moments of joy in areas that feel serious
Art in the workplace has been shown to increase productivity by 17%.
Businesses know this and will spend six-figures to design a beautiful office, yet have their team work on grey and uninspiring spreadsheets - when that's what they're looking at most of the day - it doesn't make sense.
I fell in love with Notion because for the first time, work could LOOK and FEEL beautiful. I pride myself on building digital workspaces that are equal parts beautiful, as they are functional.
Ironically, I wanted to be an interior designer as a child - I guess I already kind of am?
If you're
tired of looking at clunky spreadsheets
curious about bringing beauty into your work
I would love to work with you
Your girl,
Frances
