I’ve asked this question a few times and I love the answers I see each time! (secret:it’s actually automated with recurrent posts via Hypefury 🤫).
Notion is not just a tool. At this point, it’s a ‘lifestyle’. Similarly to rise of the ‘normalness’ of Google Docs, Notion is the NKOTB when it comes to ‘expected tools’.
Theory: education and youth-influenced FOMO. Notion is a heavy-hitter in study circles. Eventually, you develop some kind of emotional (read: low-key trauma) bond with this tool and now you take it with you everywhere like that teddy bear you’ve had since you were 5. Soon, you’re telling your parents about this thing, who then go tell their bosses/company about it - “hey, my kid is using this thing for school - thought we could use it here”. Key element: it’s not just a fad and turns out to be legitimately a great piece of tech and everyone’s obsessed.
Notion isn’t the first tech giant to use education and youth ‘cool culture’ to spark a snowball effect - Facebook started on college campuses and that’s where Google Docs got a lot of its first love too. Similarly, TikTok blew up because Gen Z thought it was cool - now it’s in irreplaceable part of brand strategy for some of the biggest brands in the world.
Using Notion as a company is a giant green flag for a lot of people - it signifies that you’re ‘moving with the times’ and take owning your workflows seriously. Making the leap, maintenance and training can often be barriers to getting started, which has led to the rise of the ‘Notion consultant’ (*cough cough - me). Here are some ways I can help 🫶🏽 👇🏾

I’m eternally annoyed that Notion was not around when I was in college/uni - my grades would’ve been ON POINT. So much so my first big templates were a simple and aesthetic student dashboard.
Notion makes a lot of sense for building a study plan. Due to the flexibility of the blocks, you can quite literally build a visual ‘mind palace’ in the why YOUR brain needs to see the information. Especially helpful for neurospicy individuals!
Anyways, I’ve been following Liz’s exam progress and it seems she smashed it - so on behalf of all the Notion community - congratulations 🫶🏽
