Notion doesn’t have to be complicated. You can make it complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. Half of my requests on coaching calls are simplifying overstuffed/over-engineered templates.

I think sometimes we forger that the OG to-do list was crossing things off a paper list - I actually return to this often when I reach ‘mission critical days’ and feel like I have a lot of things to get done.

Your Notion should be a welcoming friend, not some judgy productivity coach cracking a whip - build it like one.

I swear by the following with my clients:

🪩 Build It: it’s a repeatable process; need a centralised/easy-to-access location; there are lots of steps/moving parts; it adds value/efficiency/context to your personal/business goals

🗑 Consider not Building It: realistically, you won’t keep the data clean - will you fill in that checkbox everyday?; the information is nice to know, I guess, but there’s no value add - it’s just noise; will you actually look back at this… ever?

Thanks to its unique branding and ‘vibe’, Notion is a rare case of a digital brand that blends seamlessly into having a physical presence. It’s already shown huge success at its global pop-ups.
