Yup, bringing back magazine layouts to the web

So, this was a hit tweet. It’s a throwback to one of my favourite layouts from my Notion-Zine template - one of the first things that made me go ‘viral’ in Notion, which later turned into a real zine - The Notionette. You can also check out one of my other favourite layouts, inspired by Notion, the magazine. here.

Building zines in Notion is hands-down one of my favourite things to do - dream is to be commissioned to build one, one day! On desktop, you get the option of having a beautiful zine-style layout, which still translates to a single-column scroll on mobile. AND, thanks to Notion being Notion, you can embed anything you want on the page - maps, audio, website, playlists - you name it.

I was lucky enough to catch the end of this incredible Twitter space the other day with Spanish-speaking members of the Notion community

I personally loved the opportunity to practice Spanish on something other than Duolingo 😅 I’ve been speaking Spanish since I was young - well if we’re being honest I can now listen/read in Spanish, as I’m a little rusty in trying to come up with sentences of my own in anything other than the present tense 💀

If you’re a Spanish speaker/trying to learn, I suggest following Notion en Español on Twitter, which reposts a lot of great things from the community - can’t wait to see what’s next 🙌🏾

✨ Notion hottie alert✨

Disclosure, hottie has less to do with physical appearance, but more state of mind - you can still be a hottie with a giant hormonal spot on your chin dressed in sweats. Woops… overshare

Anyways, the hotties are using Notion! I’m blessed to have dope friends/business humans doing lots of fabulous things in my biz membership club (Babes on Waves). My heart warmed when I saw this IG story of one of said fab humans, Samar (designer hottie @ Tiny Mirror studio), using the Notion template of another of said fab humans - Devamsha (your resident financial hot girl).

Continuing the Notion hottie ~~trend~~ TAKEOVER - I LOVED seeing this from Josephine, the founder of Sojo - a London-based door-to-door alterations service - (who once had a sexy career page built in Notion that I wouldn’t shut up about)

First of all, in the era of kanban board supremacy, checkboxes don’t get enough love, so I appreciated this. Secondly, it’s fully just really wholesome. It’s like having the Notion version of a date jar, but for yourself! Saying that, Valentines Day is coming up and downloads of my date dashboard are going up, lol.

As Notion infiltrates the zeitgeist, I’m really looking forward to more ‘normal’/’wholesome’ content as it filters out from the grasp of the productivity bros. Here’s to more cute checkboxes!
